Hello all of you, & good morning today! I was not able to catch up last week on the 17th, but I am certainly going to do that right now.
On September 10th, my wife Elise, & our youngest daughter Ella, both flew down to Cal Poly, the California State University that Ella is going to attend for her undergraduate college education! Ella has been so happy with her first weeks of entry into her dormitory & the campus as well.
On September 17th, I had the fantastic opportunity to see two of my great friends, who both went to the University of Virginia, “UVA”, with me. Jay & Becky live close to Washington DC, & luckily Becky had to fly out to Seattle to work on a project. They were in Seattle for four days, & this gave Elise & I the opportunity to meet them for dinner on two of those days. We met at two fantastic restaurants that Elise & I have not visited in over a year. Our favorite activity was that we went to eat dinner at RAY’S Casual waterfront restaurant and bar, & we had the fantastic opportunity to enjoy having the outdoor dining experience!
On September 21st, I had the outstanding opportunity to go on a daylong fly-fishing trip on the Yakima River! Elise & I went with two of our very close friends, Craig & Tara, & we spent the night in the Canyon River Ranch, a small, gorgeous resort that is located on the Yakima River next to the Red’s Flyshop. This is also the spot where Craig & I got onboard Rocky’s outstanding Adipose drift boat to begin our trip of floating down the river to try to “catch & release” a brook trout, via using a fly-fishing rod. It was great that this time, Craig ended up catching & releasing the biggest trout, & also most of the trout compared to me, for sure! It was great to see it happen since I was the one who achieved the following stats of catching & releasing: 1) the first trout caught, 2) the highest numbe
r of trout caught, & 3) the biggest-sized trout caught on the same river trip that we had done with some other friends as well.
The last two weeks were fantastic, & it is so exciting that we are all heading into the fall season!
