The following is “Never Give Up”, which is a rough draft of a song that I will be singing someday after I able to purchase a new “Solid Hawaiian Koa Ukulele” that is built by Sound Smith.

“Hey Wife, I have always loved that your life is part of my life! We have known & loved each other since we got married, & we have always enjoyed the great times, & have also lived through some bad times as well.

You have been the reason that I am successfully recovering from a life-challenging injury that happened a little over 5 years ago. You have inspired me to move forward on each day with the attitude, & the belief, that I can “Never Give Up” no matter whatever bad things might happen to me going forward!

So, all of you just remember that no matter whatever bad things that might happen to you in life going forward, the only thing that you always need know is that you must “Never Give Up” on finding happiness again in your life, no matter what that happiness might mean for you, for sure!

Writing this song was based on me hearing the co-owner Shannon Smith playing this Ukulele & she is singing a song as well, which inspired me to write a song as well.

A solid Hawaiian Koa Ukulele – wow now that’s so cool. As a John Denver fan, I always loved the look and obviously the sound of a Koa wood instrument. John played a Taylor Koa guitar often at his concerts and so I looked into getting one when I got my guitar 28 years ago or so. I opted for a different Taylor model so did not go with the Koa but the wood is so beautiful and I can see why you would be interested in that for a uke. Love the song Spence…Never Give Up indeed my friend and I hope all is well with you, Elise and the girls up Seattle way.

Thanks for sharing. Both of you are a testament to the Never Give Up mind set. Elise’s love and dedication to your recovery is only match by your love for her and your passion to meet the difficult goals that you have set for yourself. You are both an amazing couple.
