Hello all of you! Once again, it has been way long time since I last published this journal. I have continued to be only focused on writing my book forward to completion. My book still needs quite a bit of work on more content & I am also just occasionally doing some cleanups of some of my prior writing as well.

In terms of some updates, we are still engaged in the project of getting our two new decks fully completed by our remodel builders that we are now hoping that this project with be completed by November 1st. It won’t be a huge surprise if the 100% completion ends up going to be around the middle point of November, but the work that they have already done is fantastic & we will be sharing with all of you some pictures of our two complete decks!

On a totally different topic, I am going to tell you about a movie that is titled Matter of Time which focuses on chronicles’ efforts to find a cure for Epidermolysis Bullosa (EB), which is a very rare genetic disease, unfortunately impacting children starting from their birth. This movie shows the terrible impacts from EB that has impacted on the lives of several young kids, and some older people as well, that are all shown in the movie.  On a very positive note, viewers with see and learn that there are amazing things that are happening to complete the elimination of this disease hopefully soon! I definitely hope that you will be inspired to watch this movie.  and very important to me, I will tell you that there is a very short dialogue involving a slightly older woman who has EB and she says this: “For me, my approach to life would be to live and not dwell on the things that you can’t change.” I love what she is saying with her sentence because it so relevant to me and my acceptance of the realities of my recovery journey that I cannot change!

In terms of October, my favorite part of this month was the week that Elise and I went to see our youngest daughter Ella who is currently living in San Luis Obispo for a full week. Instead of flying down there, Elise and I drove our AWD 4-Runner SUV all the way down to see Ella so that we could ultimately leave the SUV with her.  On this driving trip, Elise and I did a fantastic and beautiful trail walk inside of the fantastic and phenomenal Redwood National Park! Elise and I then had the chance to spend a night with two of our fantastic friends who live in Petaluma, California. After this visit, we then drove down to Monterrey, California and we did some fantastic activities which were highlighted by our trip to Monterrey Aquarium and had our fantastic dinner at Mission Ranch. After the time that we stayed in Monterrey there went down to San Luis Obisbos, and we decided that on our trip to get there, we live decided to drive down there via Highway 1. This was an amazing, but a slightly scary drive that is traveling over a big hill road that is traveling above the ocean’s coast.  When we finally had the chance to see Ella in San Luis Obispo, we absolutely had a fantastic time to see her for the whole week.  We got the chance to visit the small house that is living in for the rest of her year that she is attending college and much more exciting, Ella stayed at our hotel room for a few days. We had so many outstanding activities which included the opportunity to purchase a batch of small pumpkins at a small farm, and we also had the opportunity to go to Avila beach on two different days. We had a fantastic dinner at a phenomenal restaurant that Ella had recommended. This restaurant has several tables that are located behind the main area of restaurant which contains a smaller setup of tables that are basically covered with a bit of a soft roof above the dinner customers.

The trip that Elise and I did was totally fantastic and that included the opportunity see our two awesome friends, but obviously the opportunity to visit Ella was the best part of our trip, for sure!
